Wilma Louise Dixon, 83, of Carterville, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 25, 2022, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until time of service.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Wilma was born on April 28, 1938, in Carbondale, Illinois, to Rollie and Mildred (Moulton) Crowell. She married Frederick Charles Dixon on November 2, 1955. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2010.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Dixon; daughter, Darlene (Ray) Hiler; grandchildren, Shane (Jennifer) Dixon, Shannon (Mike) Plonka, Randy (Sarah) Smith, David Dixon, Robert (Chelsea) Eaton, Elizabeth Smith, Daniel Dixon, Jarod (Josie) Corder; great-grandchildren; River Corder, McKenzie Corder, Amber O’Neil, Alex O’Neil, Shawn O’Neil, Colton Eaton, Adaline Boggs, Aiden Boggs, Braylen Boggs, Madeline Smith, Aiden Gibbs, Alana Dixon, Gracianna Smith, and Connor Smith; great-great-grandchild, Mason Sykes; sister-in-law, Patricia “Aunt Patty” Dixon.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin sons Larry and Terry Dixon; daughter, Teresa Smith; brother, Stanley Crowell; brother-in-law, William “Bill” Dixon.
She was a homemaker and worked at Styrest Nursing Home in Carbondale as a cook.
