William Thomas “Tom” Thetford, 77, of Anna and formerly of Carterville, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Chamness Care Center in Anna.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville, with Pastor Katie McKown officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 12:45 p.m., at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Chamness Care Center Activities Department, 1953 State Highway 146 East, Anna, Illinois 62906.

Tom was born January 3, 1944, in Carbondale, to George William and Bessie June (Halstead) Thetford.

He is survived by his nephews, Mike McKown, John McKown, Jr, and Kevin McKown; niece, Jane Peiffer; and his friends at Chamness Care.

He was an avid sports fan who also enjoyed fishing.
