Virgil Armand Parola, 73, of Benton, and formerly of Springfield, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023, at Herrin Hospital.

He was born April 27, 1950, in Herrin, to the late Armand and Frances Jane (McNeill) Parola.

Virgil honorably served our country in the United States Navy.

He retired after 35 years of service in the nuclear safety department with the State of Illinois in Springfield.
