Victor Leon Modglin

Victor Leon Modglin, 90, of Cambria, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020, at the Marion Veterans Administration Hospice in Marion, Illinois.

Victor was born in Cambria, Illinois, on November 26, 1929, to Everett Modglin and Violet (Morgan) Modglin. He married Betty Jane Calvert on July 14, 1956, in Marion, Illinois. She preceded him in death on March 17, 2013.

He is survived by his sons, Darin Modglin (Kellie) of West Frankfort, Kent Modglin (Richard) of Tacoma, Washington;  grandchildren, Austin Modglin of Nashville, Tennessee, and Shelby Modglin of Carterville; brother, Carrol Modglin (Donna) of Carterville; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; his brother, Donald Modglin; infant brother, Bobby Modglin; nephew, Terry Story; brothers-in-law, Gean Story and Charles Calvert; and sisters-in-law, Aline Story, Juanita Calvert, Nancy Modglin, and Roma Modglin.

Victor was stationed in Korea with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Olin Corporation after more than 20 years.

Graveside services with military rites will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 14, 2020, in Blairsville Cemetery, with Rev. R.H. Chitwood officiating.  There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery prior to the services.
