Thomas "Tom" Waldron

Thomas Alexander Waldron, 52, of Herrin, passed away at his home Saturday, March 20, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2021, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Rev. R.H. Chitwood and Jerome Naas officiating. Burial will be in Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. COVID-19 restrictions apply, and facial coverings must be worn.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and S.I.H. Cancer Center.

Tom was born April 23, 1968, in Herrin, to Arie Leon and Ella Louise (Schmitto) Waldron Sr.  He married Cynthia “Cindy” Karen Taitt on December 22, 1992, in Paducah. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2008.

He is survived by his son, Austin (Whitney) Waldron of Carterville; grandchildren, Kade and Kash Waldron; siblings, Leonard (Mary Sue) Waldron of Blairsville, Charlotte Brown of Moline, Ellen Waldron of Carterville, Elijah Waldron of Cambria, and Billy Waldron of Herrin; sister-in-law, Deanna (Wayne) Wheeles; several nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cindy; and brother, Arie Leon Waldron Jr.

He worked as a cement finisher for Waldron Concrete and Clifton Howell Construction Company.
