Terry Lynn Rushing

Terry Lynn Rushing, 75, of Marion, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Private services will be held with Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to the Active Day Center in Marion.

Terry was born April 27, 1945, in Herrin, to Edgar "Huck" and Beulah Lee (Hernbeck) Rushing. He married Janice E. Dann on December 3, 1965, in Energy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Janice Rushing of Marion; son, Jeff (Angie) Rushing of Marion; daughter, Juli Watkins of Marion; grandchildren, Abby Rushing, Drake Watkins and Draven Watkins; and uncle, Don Hernbeck of Marion.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sharon Glassman; and in-laws, Woodrow and Juanita Dann.  

He honorably served our country in the United States Air Force.

Terry retired from the Receiving Department at Maytag in 2006, after 38 years of service.

He had attended Stonefort General Baptist Church.

Terry was a gifted Gospel singer. He was the original bass singer in the Truth Seekers Quartet and also sang with Victory Quartet.

He was a member of the Carterville Lion's Club.

Terry was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
