Steven "Steve" Jack Rich, 62, of Carterville, passed away Monday, August 30, 2021, at Herrin Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Pastor Michael Nave officiating. Burial will be in North Oakwood Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. *Per the recent mandate, facial coverings must be worn while inside our facility.

Steve was born October 16, 1958, in Carbondale, to Clarence Jackson and Leona Rae (Hindman) Rich. He married Debora Louise Rodgers on June 29, 2004, in Harrisburg.
He is survived by his wife, Debora “Debbie” Rich of Carterville; sons, Dylan (Devanni) Kitchen of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, and Jackson E. Rich of Carterville; aunts and uncles, Ludene Cox, Sally Rich, and Sue (Jack) Ridley, all of Carterville; mother-in-law, Annette Rodgers of Carterville; sister-in-law, Roe Rodgers-Bonaccorsy (Nunzio) of Edgewater, Maryland; brother-in-law, Mark (Lisa) Rodgers of Raleigh, Illinois; niece, Emma Bonaccorsy; friend, David England; cousins, Julie Cox, Jay Cox, John Rich, and Sue Ellen Rich; plus a host of friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; uncles, Sam Rich and Jim Cox; and father-in-law, Bill Rodgers.
He was a comptroller for over 40 years for Feirich Mager Green & Ryan (FMGR) Attorneys in Carbondale.
Steve was a member of Cornerstone Church in Marion.
Steve could best be described as steady, methodical, and responsible. He loved God and his family faithfully.
