Stephen Riley

Stephen Riley, 73, of Carterville and formerly of Effingham, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, at his home.

A memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 19, 2024, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carterville, with Bill Harper officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 27, 2024, St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Effingham, with Fr. Michael Berndt officiating.

Stephen was born May 26, 1951, in Effingham, to Wayne E. and Margaret (Stephens).

He is survived by his housemates, and the staff at Progress Management, Inc. and Progress Port, Inc. in Carterville.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Sharon Katherine Riley and Marie Charlotte Riley.
