Sophie Marie Bloodworth

Sophie Marie Bloodworth, 23, of Herrin, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025, in Carbondale. 

A memorial service conducted by her family will be held at a later date. 

Sophie was born on July 27, 2001, in Carbondale, to Robert R. and Julia (Jennings) Bloodworth. 

She is survived by her parents, Robert and Julie Bloodworth; siblings, Karyn Brandon, Wesley Bloodworth, Nathan Bloodworth, and Ashlynn Bloodworth; grandparents, Robert Jennings, Stan and Ruth Bloodworth, and Debbie Reynolds; nephews, Gunner Martin, Dawson Brandon, Hudson Brandon, and Everett Bloodworth; several aunts, uncles and cousins; plus her dog, Sadie. 

She was preceded by her brother, Matthew Bloodworth; grandparents, Pat Jennings, Ragina Crouch, and Stephen Reynolds. 

Sophie worked as a custodian, cleaning several businesses and doctors’ offices in southern Illinois. 

She enjoyed being outdoors, going hiking and loved all kinds of animals.  She loved to cook especially, breakfast and was famous for her hash browns.
