Shirley Mae (Moody) Daily

Shirley Mae Daily, 90, of Herrin, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family.
 

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2025, Herrin City Cemetery, with Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating.
 

Shirley was born on October 17, 1934, in East St. Louis, to Charles Henry and Mildred “Mickey” (Chitty) Moody.  She married Thomas “Ted” Edward Daily on January 13, 1956, in East St. Louis.  He preceded her in death on April 30, 2004.
 

She is survived by her daughter, Constance Davis; brothers, Michael Daily and Duncan (Kimberly) Daily; grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) Shelley, Erin Frohning, T.J. (Amber) Daily, Colleen (Alex) Magnuson, Kyle (Kaitlin) Daily, Shannon (Rashid) Jalilli, and Sean (Lisa) Daily; great grandchildren, Rozlin, Maverick, Jennifer, Mallory, Dalton, Jett, Harper, Charlie, Amiella, Eliada and Ray Ray; many nieces and nephews.  
 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Gordon; and sisters, Judith Smith, Susan Bost, and Marian McGehee. 
 

Shirley worked for Container Stapling in Herrin and then went on to work as a secretary for State Farm in Marion.  
 

She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, and later in life painting.  She collected teapots and loved butterflies.
