Sheila Mae Jolly, 85, of Royalton, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Herrin Hospital.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 11, 2025, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Perry County Humane Society.
Sheila was born on April 25, 1939, in Moose Lake, Minnesota, to Edgar Wendell and Hazel Martha (Menge) Gallimore.
She is survived by her sons, John Eklund, Terry (Rhona) Eklund, and Lee (Donna) Eklund; grandchildren, Naomi Eklund, Jennifer Eklund (Mykel Freeman), Aaron Eklund, Steven (Amanda) Elliott, Dillon Eklund (Elizabeth DeWitt), and Jake (Hannah) Eklund; great-grandchildren, Ariana Eklund, Sophia Eklund, Desso Elliott, Hazel Elliott, and Mason Eklund; nieces and nephews, Tamara Delany, Constance Ohlsen, and David Griffin.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Pamela Griffin.
Sheila had a diverse and fulfilling career, beginning with her work at Cub Foods and Burns Security, before finding her passion at Malone’s Early Learning Center. She first served as a transportation driver and later dedicated herself to working with the school-age children, making a lasting impact on many young lives.
A lover of animals, Sheila had a heart for all creatures great and small. Every animal she encountered became a cherished pet, always well-fed and cared for. She was deeply generous, often donating blankets to local animal shelters to help those in need.
Sheila was also a gifted crafter. Whether sewing, embroidering, or transforming ordinary bottles into festive Santas or beautiful lighted art, her creativity knew no bounds. Her talent and passion for crafting brought joy to everyone who admired her work.
