Sharon Brandon Obituary

Sharon “Sherry” Lee Brandon, 77, of Herrin, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 15, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Just before her passing, on May 7, 2021, Sharon was baptized and accepted the Lord as her Savior.

Sharon was born on June 17, 1943, in Carterville, to Mary Ruth (Chew) Bollinger.  She was raised by her mother and step-father, Paul Bollinger and went to school in Austin, Texas. She married Tom Mott on March 16, 1965, in Texas; he preceded her in death on June 2, 1990.  She later married Larry Brandon on May 16, 1995, in Herrin; he preceded her in death on January 22, 1997.

She is survived by her daughter, Ronda Sue (Billy) Waters of Smithville, Texas; son, Tom    Mott (partner Eric Cunningham) of Louisville, Kentucky;  grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, and Justin (Whitney) Waters, all of Texas; great-grandchildren, Shawn, Aden, Nathan, Cameron, and Ty Waters and Kaydence Kimball, all of Texas; plus many additional family and cousins, particularly two special cousins with whom she was especially close to, Judy Ridings and Lee Ann Miles, both of Herrin.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; an infant sister, Paula Jo Bollinger; grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.

She worked in many different fields over the years. Sharon spent her retirement enjoying shopping and going out to eat. She also enjoyed watching cooking shows, but especially loved watching her great-grandsons ball games.

Sharon will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Per Sharon’s wishes, she will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
