Sandra Jane (Nausley) Spiller

Sandra Jane Spiller, 77, of Carterville, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at Parkway Manor in Marion.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Father Joseph Brown officiating. Burial will be in North Oakwood Cemetery in Carterville.  Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Sandra was born June 20, 1943, in DuQuoin, to Richard Freeman and Hazel (Shupe) Nausley. She married William "Bill" Spiller in June 1989 in Carterville.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Spiller of Carterville; sons, Rob (Beverly) Rendleman of Murphysboro and Richard (Kristi) Rendleman of Auburn, Alabama; grandchildren, Lucas (Sami) Rendleman, Jenna Garver (Matt Huff), Mallory, Miranda and Maggie Rendleman; great-grandchildren, Kale Sizemore and Alena Rendleman; sisters, Rita Todd and Nina Pippin; mother-in-law, Wanda Spiller; and several nieces.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Ryan Rendleman.

She retired after 20 years of service at Ameren where she was a meter reader and previously worked in the office.

Sandra was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin and St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Murphysboro. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

She had quite the "green thumb" and enjoyed tending to her flowers, as well as keeping active by running and swimming.
