His family moved back to Carterville in the late 1930’s and Ronald attended the Carterville School System, graduating high school in 1950. He was Known as “Jug” to his friends and classmates.

Ronald enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1950 and was stationed at Camp Lejeune for the duration of his service. After his discharge, he came back to Carterville and attended VTI graduating with an associate degree in accounting. He took a job with US Industries located in Tuscola, Illinois.

He worked his way up to National Marketing Manager working in New York City. Ronald had the motivation to always go further in his career, which allowed him to travel and relocate to many states, which included Michigan, New Jersey, and Ohio.

Ronald had a passion for NASCAR racing, maintaining his lawn, yard sales and flea markets. When he relocated it was a must that the house had lake access where he could have his boat docked. It was never a celebration without carrot cake and homemade banana pudding.  He retired at the age of 55 and began to fulfill his bucket list. He owned many RV’s throughout the years and explored many places. He was cherished by all his family and will forever be missed.
