Robert Ahne Obituary

Robert Marcellus Ahne, 81, of Herrin, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born June 3, 1942, in Madonnaville, Illinois, to Joseph and Corina (Floerke) Ahne. Robert married Lucy Ann McMullan on October 8, 1966, in Columbia, Illinois.

Robert is survived by his wife, Lucy Ahne of Herrin; sons, Robert (Audra Sue) Ahne, and Adam (Maribeth) Ahne; daughter, Andrea (Jeff) Van Sambeek; grandchildren, Joel Ahne, Madisyn Ahne, and Rebecca (Keire) Jefferson; brothers, Art (Joan) Ahne, Paul Ahne, Gene Ahne, and Richard (Pam) Ahne; sisters, Bernice Duvall, Laverne Schuster, and Ruth Ann Feldker; sister-in-law, Patricia McMullan; plus numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Martin, Henry, Arline, William, and John Ahne; and sister, Joann Shields.

He honorably served our country in the United States Navy.

Robert began his career with IBM as a technician. He later branched out with friends, creating Tri-X Office Equipment and LA Services, where he worked for 30 years.

He was quite the pool shark.
