His loves besides the pastorate were: camp ministry where he directed senior high camps for 25 years in Ohio, Iowa and Illinois; music-solo and men's quartet, directing choirs and children's muscials, playing instruments, and enjoying all musical genres from classical to jazz to southern gospel; woodworking-making furniture and boxes; missions-trips to Haiti, Refugee Resettlement, international and home missions; playing Trivial Pursuit and always winning; and eating pie!

Memorial contributions can be made to the Lake Springfield Baptist Camp, sent in care of, Crainville Baptist Church.

His family would like to express their thanks to Shawnee Christian Village and Hospice of Southern Illinois for their wonderful care.
