Reba B. Gray, 80, of Carterville, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Ralph Brandon officiating. Burial will be in Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until time of the service at 3:00 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to Graydon and Garrison College Fund.
Reba was born on December 14, 1940, in Williamson County, Illinois, to Amos and Edith (Hamby) O’Daniell. She married Donald J. “Don” Gray on March 24, 1970. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2007.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Ann (James) Adams; grandsons, Graydon and Garrison Adams both of Carterville; sisters, Dorothy Garner of Carterville, Frieda O’Daniell of Carterville, Carol Halstead of Hurst, Norma Morris of Carterville; brother, Ron (Inez) O’Daniell of Royalton.
Reba is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, LaDonna Jo Gray; son, Scott Gray; brothers and sister-in-law, Dewey and Doris O’Daniell, Gene Garner, Bill Halstead and Kenny Morris.
She was a homemaker, who enjoyed cooking and was known for her dumplings. She always had a smile on her face and never knew a stranger. Her greatest joy in life was bragging about her children and her two grandsons.
