Raymond W. Dennison

Raymond W. Dennison, 80, of rural Carbondale, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024, at his home.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2024, at Willowrest Cemetery in Carterville, with Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Kidney Foundation.

Ray was born April 14, 1943, in Doddridge County, West Virginia, to Homer and Elizabeth (Reed) Dennison.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, camping, and shooting. Ray never missed any of his grandkids’ games or activities.

He is survived by his son, Ed (Susan) Dennison; grandchildren, Michael Dennison and Elizabeth Dennison; half-sisters, Rosina Rogers and Nina Jean Williams; and several cousins.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Michael and Mark Dennison; and brother, Jennings Dennison.

He retired after 43 years as a Supervisor for PPG Industries.
