Raymond “Ray” Lee Davis, 77, of Marion, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Rev. Donnie Colson officiating. Burial will be in Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Ray was born February 14, 1947, in Lick Creek, to William Arthur and Stella (Cox) Davis. He married Dianna Lynn Coleman on May 22, 1971, in Cambria.
He is survived by his wife, Dianna Davis; daughter, Cheryl (Wendell) Wooley; son, Randy Davis; grandchildren, Danny O’Connor, David O’Connor, and Julie Markly; great-grandchildren, Alexander O’Connor and Iris O’Connor; sister, Wanda (Fred) Schlenker; nieces and nephews; and beloved dogs, Angel and Cry Baby.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Luther, Harold, and Chester Davis; sisters, Verda Lawrence, Lillian Gurley, and Ada Gentry; and granddaughter, Alexa O’Connor.
He worked for 10 years at Williamson County Animal Control.
Ray was an animal lover, avid hunter and fisherman who also was talented at making crafts. He enjoyed woodworking, making dolls and yard art, and knitting tissue boxes.
Ray was passionate about his family and loved spending time with them.
