Ralph Eugene Cox

Ralph Eugene Cox, 72, of Carbondale, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Memorial services will be held 4:00 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Pastor Gary Darnell officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Military rites will immediately follow.

Ralph was born March 15, 1950, in Carbondale, to Rev. Harold Dean and Harriet Aline (Collins) Cox.

He is survived by his son, Jared (Lisa) Cox of Marion; sister, Shirley (Jerry) Smith; brother, Louie (Wanda) Cox; granddaughter, Hailee Cox.

Ralph was preceded in death by parents; son, Jason Lee Cox; and brother, Gary Cox.

He honorably served our country in the United States Army.

Ralph retired from Tuct Tape in Carbondale, where he worked as a boiler operator for over 21 years. He had served as the President of the Laborers’ Union at Tuct Tape.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed quail and raccoon hunting with his son.
