Pauline Oakley, 94, of Carterville, passed away Friday, March 18, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2022, at Blairsville Cemetery, with Therese Bailey officiating.
Pauline was born March 30, 1927, in Carterville, to Frank and Delphena (Jordon) Hill.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Myers, Pam Winget, and Deborah Fletcher; son, Jim (Robin) Greeney; grandchildren, Jimmie Greeney, Jody (Kim) Stevens, Dr. Dylan Greeney (fiancé, Christina), Donnie Winget (Shane Yackle), Adam Fletcher (Dr. Amanda Bleichner), Derek Curtright, Donna Myers, Tammy Wallace, Casey Partee; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Hadley Turner, who raised her; brother, Paul Hill; sister, Louise Stewart; and sons-in-law, Don Myers and Abe Winget.
Prior to her work as a seamstress at Smoler Brothers in Herrin, Pauline had also worked at Intuition in Carbondale.
She was a talented quilter who enjoyed reading and going shopping. Pauline’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family.
