Paula Kay (Break) Keen

Paula Kay Keen, 71, of Carterville, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

A celebration of her life, hosted by her family, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the family lake.

Paula was born on October 4, 1953, in Carmi, to Charles Lowell and Delores Lee (Dale) Break. She married Bradley Eugene Keen on April 25, 1969, in Benton, Missouri.

She is survived by her husband, Bradley Keen; daughter, Melaine Keen; sons, Brent Keen and Kent Keen; grandchildren, Cole Keen, Braxten Keen, Malichi Helton, Chloe Keen, Lillie Keen, and Violet Keen; sister, Pam (Doug) Crook; and her beloved dog, Pee Dink.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Roxanne Abell; and brother, Charles Break Jr.

She was a CNA at Styrest Nursing Home for many years as well as worked as a home health nurse. Paula, along with her husband, also owned and operated Keen Well Drilling.
