Paul Richard Deering, 59, of Carterville, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Justin Loucks officiating. Visitation will begin after 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at the funeral home.

Paul was born September 20, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Charles Richard and Norma (Mertz) Deering. He married Susanellen “Suzi” Pizanowski on July 7, 2001, in Marion.
He is survived by his wife, Suzi Deering of Carterville; children, Amy (Joe) Arais of Rockford, Illinois, Ryan (Julia) Deering of Greenville, Rhode Island, Ashley Deering of Carbondale, Zack Deering of San Tan Valley, Arizona, Brandon Wheeler of St. Louis, Kristal Rosenow (Kevin) of Carterville, and Stephanie VanOrder of Mt. Sterling, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; mother, Norma (John) Fishcorn of St. Peters, Missouri; siblings, Michael (Nancy) Deering of Crestwood, Missouri, Bruce (Julie) Deering of Wynfield, Missouri, Vincent (Nancy) Deering of St. Peters, Missouri, Michelle Deering of Peevly, Missouri, Diana (Daryl) Bianco of Des Peres, Missouri, Kathrine (Matthew) Gottschall of St. Charles, Missouri, Tanya Deering (Ryan Treasure) of O’Fallon, Missouri, and Mark (Tanya) Deering of Troy, Missouri; plus numerous nieces, nephews and his beloved dog, “Poochie”; and a host of friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Charles Deering.
He was the manager of the Student Center Bowling & Billiards at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale for the last 17 years. He also drilled custom bowling balls for SI Bowl many years.
Paul loved his family, bowling, his Harley Davidson, and his dog. He had such a passion for bowling and enjoyed participating in bowling tournaments all over. His joy for life and everyday presence will be missed.
