Patricia "Patty" Ann (Ackley) Wagers

Patricia “Patty” Ann (Ackley) Wagers, 63, of Carterville, passed away November 26, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. 

She was born December 26, 1958, in Mt. Vernon, to Mary Jane (Smith) Ackley. Patricia was married to Edward “Bud” Hughey until 1977.

Patricia is survived by a special friend, Crystal Jiles of Carterville; her son, Jamie Hughey of Mt. Vernon; daughter, Melissa Hughey of Mt. Vernon; brother, Allen Ackley (Zack Marston) of Coalinga, California; sisters, Pamela Brumfield of Mt. Vernon, Rebecca Cross (Stefan Williams) of Clarksville, Tennessee; grandchild, Savanna Davenport;  aunts and uncles, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Wayne Ackley; mother, Mary Jane Ackley;  sisters, Kathy Lynn Ackley and Tresa Jane (Ackley) Gunter.

Patricia worked as a CNA and held other various jobs over the years. She was mostly a homemaker.

She enjoyed spending her time with family and friends. She enjoyed playing Bingo. She spent many nights playing video games. She was a big part of the Chittyville School haunted house in Herrin for many years.
