Nancy (Pentecost) McKinney

Nancy McKinney, 88, of Carterville, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Deaconess Healthcare in Marion.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Nancy was born on August 30, 1936, in Carterville, to Joe and Margaret (Turton) Pentecost. She married Carl Lee McKinney on December 7, 1956, in Carbondale. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2008.

She is survived by her children, Jeff (Paula) McKinney, Kevin McKinney, and Jodie Szablewski; daughter-in-law, JoAnn McKinney; brother, Steve Pentecost; plus numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ralph McKinney; and son-in-law, Keith Szablewski.

Nancy worked as a seamstress at Bombardier and Mirah for over 30 years. She enjoyed playing cards, embroidery, attending yard sales, and, most of all, spending time with her family.

Arrangements were entrusted to Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville.
