Michael "Bob" Paul McNeil

Michael Paul “Bob” McNeil, 68, of Carterville, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021, at his home. 

Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2021, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Rev. David Siere officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. COVID-19 restrictions apply and facial coverings must be worn.

Bob was born December 29, 1952, in Omaha, Nebraska, and was raised by his aunt and uncle, Ginny and Harold “Mack” McNeil. 

He is survived by his daughter, Amy (Brad) Daron of Carterville; son, Chris McRoy of West Frankfort; grandchildren, Madison Daron, Quentin Daron and Trace Daron, all of Carterville; brother, Rev. David (Carol) Siere of Brookport; uncle, Charles “Corky” (Alice) McNeil of Carterville; special cousin, Sue Mason of West Frankfort, along with several other cousins; niece, Rebecca (Billy) Schmidt of Lacey, Washington; nephew, Vern (Nicole) Tooley of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Bob was preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Ginny and Harold “Mack” McNeil; and sister-in-law, Patti Tooley. 

He was an over the road truck driver for Clark Farms and Flamm Orchards for more than 30 years. 

Bob’s greatest joy came from his family, especially his grandkids who were his whole world.
