Michael David Mayberry

Michael David Mayberry, 68, of Herrin, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Graveside services with military rites will be held at a later date.                                                  

Mike was born August 20, 1955, in Anna, to Ramona (Absher) and Harold David Mayberry. He married Sheila Jackson on December 18, 2014, in Marion.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Mayberry; mother, Ramona Morgan; sisters, Ann Williams, and Cindy (Mike) Peters; brother, Danny Morgan; and special nephew, Cedric Peters; step-son, Jason (Nicci) Eddy; step-grandchildren, Wyatt Eddy, Jaxson Eddy, Jagger Eddy, and Conner Hartley.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Harold Mayberry; son, Michael David; and step-father who raised him, Cedric Morgan.

He honorably served our country in the United States Navy.

Mike was the delivery person for Heckel’s Furniture in Carterville for over 10 years. He had also been a swimming pool installer.

He was an avid sports fan who loved to cheer on his beloved Florida Gators and St. Louis Cardinals. Mike also played on a local traveling softball team for many years.
