Melinda Ann (Altman) Rowatt

Melinda Ann Rowatt, 62, of Marion, passed away February 9, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with her brother Martin Altman officiating. Burial will be in Willowrest Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will begin after 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the funeral home.

Melinda was born February 9, 1961, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, to Martin William and Patricia Ann (Murphy) Altman. She married William Eugene Rowatt on December 3, 2003, in Marion. 

She is survived by her husband, William Rowatt of Marion (and family); daughters, Jessica Altman and Ashley Altman; sons, Michael Altman, and Dusty Altman; grandchildren, Gabriel Altman and Hudson Altman; father, Martin W. Altman; sisters, Teresa Ross (Amber Ross/Michael Zarilla, Joshua Ross/Jessica Quinn) and Pamela Anderson (Jonathan Smail/Joy Smail, Casey Smail, Dakota Ramirez/Nathan Ramirez); brothers, Martin (Stephanie) Altman (Laura/Matt Ridilla, Melissa/Steve Terney, Emily Prestenbach), Kevin (Kathy) Altman (Scarlett/Scott Flores, Benjamin Droweinga, Tammy/Tony Curtis), and Patrick (Joni) Altman (Zachary Altman), As well as several great-neices/nephews.

Melinda was preceded in death by her mother. 

She never shied away from hard work and had worked at Maytag, Memorial Hospital, and Marion School District.

Melinda loved riding horses, going to rodeos, camping, and attending craft and flea markets. 

She was a mother figure to many, offering her love and support over the years and loved by all who met her.
