Mary Louise (Morris) Calhoun

Mary Louise Calhoun, 80, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Herrin Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Pastor Lito Tacderas officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park in Murphysboro. Visitation will from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.

Mary was born July 24, 1941, in Vallejo, California, to George C. and Frances L. (Horn) Morris. She married Wayne Calhoun on August 26, 1982, in Carterville.

She is survived by her husband Wayne Calhoun of Marion; children, Richard (Hope) Morony of Carterville, Susan (Wade) Chalfant of Utah, Robert S. Morony of Florida, Samantha (Steve) Barnett of DuQuoin, and Jeanie Bailey of DuQuoin; grandchildren, Robert C. Morony, Megan Daigle, Cody Ritchie, Austin (Kayla) Chalfant, Tabitha Morony, Cole Barnett, Viola Bailey, Vivian Bailey, Kristopher Boomer, Page (Samara) Martinez, Axel (Amber) Madison, Travis (Shania) Barnett, and Erica Barnett; great-grandchildren, Kenlee, Aubree, Lanee, Gavin, Hayden, Adyson, Quincy, Maggie Mae, Ava Lynn, Cooper, Oakley, Ryker, Everleigh, Paisley, Blake, and Lincoln; brother, Mike Morris; and numerous other family members including nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dustin Morris; and grandchildren, Ashley and Jeffrey.

She had worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Stiles Office Supplies many years as well as at John A. Logan College.

Mary had a talent for crafts and the art of macrame, as well as painting. Her love was her greatest gift.

Mary also liked to travel-from camping to going to many states, life carried her to many places across the country, and even Germany.
