Marilyn Suzanne Morris, 84, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Rev. R.H. Chitwood officiating. Burial will be at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Marilyn was born July 19, 1939, in Marion, to Harold Gordon and Mary Pauline (Gray) Wollard. She married Edward Leon Morris on September 9, 1989, at Lake of Egypt. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2020.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Mike) Gratton, Patty (Bill) Erwin, and Dianna (Scott) Ferguson; grandchildren, Michael Gratton, Brandon Ferguson, Megan Gratton, Dustin (Holly) Erwin, Elizabeth Gratton, Brittany (Chris) Kamper, and Rebekah (Kyle) Milton; great-grandchildren, Dominick English, Braeden Erwin, Jovie Erwin, Brooklyn Gratton, Kamryn Erwin, Austin Kamper, and Emily Kamper; sister, Vera (Tony) Held.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon Morris; and sister, Dorothy Breeden.
She was a realtor with Dave Thompson Realty in Marion for over 30 years.
Marilyn enjoyed listening to Gospel and country music, traveling with Leon, and liked chocolate desserts, especially ice cream from Dairy Queen. She was an Angela Lansbury fan, fond of watching “Murder She Wrote”, crime dramas, and Hallmark movies. She also had quite the green thumb and loved roses and tending to them.
