Susette was born April 11, 1946, in Carbondale, to William Leo and Alice Grace (Kelly) Frost. She married Richard Dale Alexander on May 28, 1965, in Carterville. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2019.
She is survived by her son, Bradley Gene Alexander; grandchildren, Haleigh, Nathaniel, and Gabriel; nieces, Terri McNeill and Traci Wallace; and many dear friends.
Susette was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Kent Alexander; and brother, Billy Dean Frost.
She had been a teller at Carterville State & Savings Bank in Carterville for 15 years. Prior to working at the bank, Susette had provided in-home childcare for many years.
Susette was an extraordinarily talented artist, trained in graphic design. She made hand painted cartoon yard art that was generously donated to the city of Carterville and is on display during the “Christmas in Carterville” event. Susette would also volunteer her talents and time offering face painting for church and community events. She enjoyed doing counted cross-stitch, embroidery, and making ceramics. She also had a love of decorating for all the seasons and making special Christmas ornaments she kindly shared with others.
Susette was a member of Crainville Baptist Church for many years. She was instrumental in the painting of the nursery rooms, not once, but twice. The first time she painted a Care Bears theme and in more recent years had painted a beautiful Noah’s Ark theme. Susette had also been an integral part of the Craft Fair held each year.
Susette was kind and giving of her love. She will be dearly missed.
