Lynda Gennie Gossage, 58, of Carterville, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at her home.
Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, private memorial services will be held with Pastor Donnie Colson officiating.
Lynda was born February 25, 1962, in Murphysboro, to Teddy Lee and Donna Mae (Rains) Florence. She married Bruce "Goose" Wayne Gossage on November 8, 2008, in Smoky Mountains, Tennessee. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2014.
She is survived by her loving son and best friend, Tony (Charity) Charles; grandson, Michael Russell; sisters, Ann Craig, Darlene Porter, Gail Mifflin, and Angel (Mike) Caraker; brother, Mike (Amy) Florence; step-father, Kenny Tuthill; uncle, Benny; sisters-in-law, Rose (Roger) Black and Alyce Gossage; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers-in-law, Bill Craig, Paul Porter and Arlie Marvin Gossage; and nephew, Arlie Lee Gossage.
Lynda wasn't afraid of hard work and had been a machinist at Diagraph for over 10 years. She had previously worked at Pen Aluminum and Curwood. Lynda worked hard to obtain her Food Handler License and put it to good use when working at the SIUC Student Center.
She was a talented ceramics painter who had a great love of animals. Lynda also enjoyed fishing with her husband, Bruce.
