Lois Eugenia Snyder, 83, of Carbondale, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Manor Court of Carbondale.
She was born on September 21, 1942, in Carbondale, to Maxine (Giberson) and Wiley Reeves. Lois married the love of her life, Wade Ray Snyder, on March 19, 1960, in Murphysboro. Together, they shared nearly 66 wonderful years of marriage.
Lois is survived by her beloved husband, Wade Snyder; daughter, Julie Yates; sons, Wade E. (Learni) Snyder and Bryan (Penny) Snyder; grandchildren, Caleb (Marie Funk) Snyder, Dalton (Abby Frankel) Brown, Dustin Brown, Connor (Drea) Snyder, Amanda James, and Heather (Jeff) Sims; great-grandchildren, Noah Snyder, Duncan and Rebecca Sims, and Christian and Hayden James; sister, Carol (Skip) Nimmo; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sharon Daron.
Lois worked as a patient representative at SIH for more than 35 years, where she dedicated her life to helping others. In keeping with her desire to continue helping even after death, she chose to donate her body to the SIU School of Medicine to aid in the advancement of medical education.
A celebration of Lois’ life will be held at a later date.
