Leonard Franklin Waldron II, 60, of Blairsville, died, Sunday, October 3, 2021, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Monday, October 11, 2021, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville with Rev. Greg Parker and Mark Provo officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to his family to offset medical and funeral expenses.
Leonard was born on November 5, 1960, in Carbondale to Arie Leon and Ella Louise (Schmitto) Waldron Sr. He married Mary Sue Howell on November 6, 1992, in Paducah, Kentucky.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Sue Waldron of Blairsville; two stepsons, Larry (Vicki) Reed Jr. of Hurst and Paul (Andrea Needham) Reed of Blairsville; granddaughter, Trinity; sisters, Charlotte Brown of Moline, and Ellen Waldron of Carterville; brothers, Elijah Waldron of Cambria, and Billy Waldron of Herrin; aunts, Oma Waldron of Carterville, and Mary Schmitto of Murphysboro; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded death by his parents and brothers, Arie Leon Waldron Jr., and Thomas Waldron.
Leonard worked as a concrete finisher and was affectionately known as the “Concrete Man”. He worked for over 40 years for himself, the City of DuQuoin and Clifton Howell Construction.
