Lennis Meade Jr.

Lennis Meade Jr., 69, of Carterville, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.

Lennis was born September 29, 1952, in Marion, to Lennis and Evelyn (Dunn) Meade Sr. He married Charlotte Skelcher on August 20, 1971.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Charlotte Meade of Carterville; son, Kevin (Danielle) Meade; grandchildren, Michael Oyler, Alex Meade, Cameron Meade, and Bryce Meade; sisters, Alice Faye Campbell of Marion, Betty Meade of Hurst, and Becky Anderson of Marion.

Lennis was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christie Meade; and sister, Ethel Roper.

He worked at Rochman Rentals for over 30 years.

Lennis enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and cheering them on at all of their sporting events.
