Larry Virgil Hampton

Larry Virgil Hampton, 84, of Goreville, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Heila Healthcare in Energy, with his family by his side. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to Jordan Davidson Memorial Fund at Southern Trust Bank in Goreville.

Larry was born on March 18, 1939, in Herrin, Illinois, to Virgil and Marguerite (Walker) Hampton.  He married Sandra Falknor, and she preceded him in death on May 15, 2001.  He then married Helen Sue Miller on August 9, 2020. 

He is survived by his wife, Helen Hampton; daughter, Stephanie (Angelo) Rivera; stepchildren, David Null, Justin Miller, and Kiara Miller; several grandchildren; brother, Richard Hampton; sister, Tamra Richardt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded by his parents and wife, Sandra.

Larry worked for 30 years for Rackers Sales as a Heavy Equipment Salesman. 

He was of the Pentecostal Faith.

He enjoyed riding his Goldwing motorcycle and belonged to Riders for Christ Motorcycle Association, where he was on the music team. 

Larry enjoyed collecting diecast cars and heavy equipment models and loved to sing gospel music.

Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville assisted the family with cremation services.
