LaDonna (Thomas) Teal

LaDonna Teal, 78, of Carterville, passed away Friday, April 15, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home, with Rev. Jason McKinnies and Ken Pind officiating. Burial will be in Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

LaDonna was born March 16, 1944, in Herrin, to Adrian and Ruie (Vaughn) Thomas.  She married Alfred Leon Teal Sr. on August 13, 1960, in Marion. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2021.

She is survived by her sons, Alfred (Jeanene)Teal Jr. of Marion and Jerry Teal of Carterville; daughter, Sherri (Brit) Tanner of Evansville, Indiana;  grandchildren, Jacob (Teri) Teal of Carterville, Joshua (Whitney) Teal of Marion, Amanda (Rod) Sills of Evansville, Indiana, Christopher Tanner of Evansville, Indiana, Aaron Teal of Carterville, Brandon (Kayla) Teal of Camp Pendleton, California, Jon (Stephanie) Teal of Carterville, Haley (Cory) Brinkley of Carterville; great-grandchildren, Judah Teal, Ziva Teal, Preston Teal, Paxton Teal, Isaac Sills, Caleb Sills, Phoebe Sills, Rosie Teal, Elijah Teal, Matthew Teal, Koda Teal, Jace Brinkley, Jaxton Brinkley, and Jameson Brinkley; sister, Patsie Hardcastle. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Tracy Teal; brother, Jerry Wayne Thomas; sisters, DeMova Hale, Bonita Volner,  and Doris McMillan. 

LaDonna, along with her late husband Alfred, owned and operated Al’s Auto Repair and worked as a caregiver for many years. 

She was a member of the Southern Illinois Worship Center and was a founding member of the Cambria Girl’s Club.
