Kenneth "Ace" Ned Young

Kenneth “Ace” Ned Young, 89, of Carterville, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025, at his home.

Private graveside services were held.

Ace was born on September 20, 1935, in Cooperstown, Illinois, to Robert and Nellie Ellen (Hayward) Young Sr. He was raised in the Peoria area and lived a large portion of his life in San Francisco, California.

He honorably served our country in the United States Marine Corps during Korea.

Ace is survived by his nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law, Nancy Speck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob (Lucille) and Jerry Young; sisters, Loretta (Don) Roseboom, Leisle Malencore, and Sally (Sam) Rich.

Ace spent the last 10 years living in Carterville with his sister, Sally. He was very happy to spend those years with Sally and niece, Sue Ellen, and nephew, John, as well as other family.

He had worked at Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewery for many years.
