Kathy Marie Solomon, 63, of Carterville, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2024, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Rev. Jim Wright officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Herrin Food Pantry.
Kathy was born on October 22, 1960, in Christopher, Illinois, to Kenneth L. and Wilma Marie (Bima) Greenlee. She married Bradley “Brad” Alan Solomon in Carterville, on April 27, 1985.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Brad Solomon; daughter, Ashlee (Randy) Wade; son, Matt Solomon; grandchildren, Connor Wade, Brantley Wade, Waylon Wade; mother-in-law, Nancy Solomon; brother, Paul (Paula) Greenlee; sister, Nancy Pick; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Stacy Greenlee, Tana Greenlee, Jeff (Kim) Solomon, and Jennifer (Wes) Gatton; plus several nieces and nephews.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Amanda Todd; and brothers, Kenneth and Joseph Greenlee.
Kathy retired as an RN at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. She also taught nursing for several years at McKendree University and Shawnee Community College.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Energy, where she was active in the Vacation Bible School program.
She was also active in making food baskets for families, but the most important part of her life was her family.
