Joseph Scott Coffey

Joseph Scott Coffey, 41, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and formerly of Marion, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Holy Cross Medical Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.

Scott was born December 18, 1979, in Herrin, to Joe R. and Lana Sue (Vaughn) Coffey.

He is survived by his father, Joe (Debbie) Coffey of Marion; mother, Lana Sue (Artie) Kindle of St. Stephen, South Carolina; sister, Heather (Josh) Phillips of Johnston City; niece, Alyssa (David) Adams of Thompsonville; great nieces and nephew, Waylon, Sadie and Jessie Rae Adams; and numerous aunts, uncle and cousins.

Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents.

He was a graduate of Marion High School and had been pursuing a degree in Computer Software Technology.
