Jon D. White, 58, of Columbia, Missouri, and formerly of Cambria, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 31, 2025, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with the Rev. R.H. Chitwood officiating. Burial will be in Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Monday, at the funeral home.

Jon was born on December 6, 1966, in Carbondale, to Jackie Don and Wilma Pearl (Biggs) White.
He is survived by his brothers, Jim White and Jerry White; nieces and nephew, Cathrine (Sam) Hoekstra, Amy (Jim) Primo, and Brett (Elise) White; 8 great nieces and nephews; and 13 great-great nieces and nephews.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters-in-law, Mary and Debbie White.
Jon was a proud graduate of the University of Illinois and went on to have a distinguished career at the University of Missouri at Columbia, where he worked as an Environmental Chemist for over 30 years.
Jon’s life was marked by a deep passion for music. He cherished attending concerts and festivals, immersing himself in the joy and energy of live performances. An avid enthusiast of the outdoors, Jon found pleasure in spending time at the gun range, where he honed his skills, and he even crafted his own crossbow, showcasing his creativity and craftsmanship.
Jon will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to his work, and the joy he brought to those who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
