Jolene Masters, 90, of Carterville, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the Villas of Hollybrook, with her family by her side.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Cambria Christian Church, with Pastor Jeff Wiggs officiating. Inurnment will follow at Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at the church.
Memorial contributions can be made to Cambria Christian Church or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Jolene was born on December 6, 1934, in Cambria, to Henry Monroe and Demova Oceana (Gilkey) Tyner. She married Derril Eugene Masters on December 21, 1951, in Cambria. He passed away on May 25, 2018.
She is survived by her daughters, Cathi (John) Roth of Johnston City, and Melissa Masters of Miami, Florida; son, Brent (Diane) Masters of Carterville; grandchildren, Kim (Chris) Crowson, Kyle Masters, Jamie “Nikki” (Tyler) Pedigo, Timothy (April) Wilkins, Thomas (Ali) Clay, Rachel Roth (Jerry Bowlin), Renee (Doug) Grisham, and Kelly (Mandi) McKnight; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild on the way; sister, Greta Whitecotton; brothers, Gary (Paula) Tyner, and Monty (Monica) Tyner; plus numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jolene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, son, Derrill Lee Masters; daughter, Candace Lynn Wilkins; grandson, David Paul Masters; great-grandsons, Wyatt Clay and Blake Grisham; great-granddaughter, Isabella Clay; brother, Bill Tyner; sisters, Roma Modglin, June Martin, Lana Sonier, and Delorse Leeper.
She had an in-home beauty shop. Jolene previously had worked at Diagraph-Bradley and Olin Corporation.
Jolene was a member of Cambria Christan Church for many years.
