Joanne Moore Obituary

Joanne Louise Moore, 89, of Colp, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her family.  

She was born June 25, 1932, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Arthur Phillip and Lydia Beulah (Lucas) Large. She married Lawrence John Eigenheer on June 15, 1953, in Joliet, Illinois. Joanne later married Wesley J. Moore on May 26, 1975, in Herrin, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2012. 

Joanne is survived by her daughters, Rebecca L. Schroeder (Nancy Jenkins), Susan A. Swierenga, Carol J. Houseright, Patricia L. (Skip) Coffey, and Donna A. McPheron; son, Michael (Tracy) Rushing; daughter-in-law, Shirley Rushing; step-son, Bruce (Sara) Rushing; 16 grandchildren, Sarah (Derek) Morrow, Nicholas (Angela) Schroeder, Bethany (Clay) Carter, Kyle (Lauren) Houseright, Skip (Amanda) Coffey Jr., Tyler Coffey, Cody (Taylor) Coffey, Christopher (Jessica) Manning, Phillip (Sheila) Manning, Michael Rushing Jr., Zeyarah Corry, ZionRae Anderson, Kelsey Poe, Ashley Waldron, Angela (Bret) Parini, and James (Dakota) Rushing; 29 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Jean (Donald) Tsubaki; sister-in-law, Jean Hitt, nieces; Cynthia Tsubaki and Linda Tsubaki; and numerous cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, James Rushing; and step-daughter, Kathy Bevis.  

Joanne was a Registered Nurse at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, Illinois from 1953 - 1968. She then worked at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Illinois from 1969 until her retirement in 1994. 

She enjoyed bird watching, reading, gardening, cooking, but especially spending time with her family.  

In lieu of flowers, family is requesting that donations can be made to the charity of your choice. 

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Ana Migone for her many years of excellent care, compassion, and personal touch to our mother. 

Per her request, there will be no services. Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville is in charge of arrangements.
