Joan A. Elliott, 88, of Carterville, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
She was born December 29, 1932, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to James Samuel and Edith Zita (Dolson) Abrose. She married James R. Kerr in Cincinnati, Ohio, and he preceded her in death. Joan later married Jim Elliott in St. Louis, Missouri, and he preceded her in death.
Joan is survived by her son, Daniel (Gerane) Kerr of Iowa Colony, Texas; daughter, Jennifer Ritchie (Ed Davis) of Graham, Washington; grandchildren, Elizabeth Monroe of Carterville, Addison Kerr of Iowa Colony, Texas, Rebecca Kerr of Stafford, Texas, and Sky (Cory) Taylor of Fresno, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Rocky, Buddy, and Cash Monroe, all of Carterville, and Poppy Taylor of Fresno, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and brother, James L. Abrose.
Joan taught at Fairfield Center Street School from 1970 - 1985. She then was employed by the United States Air Force as an Aerospace Education Coordinator.

No memorial services are planned at this time. Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville assisted the family with cremation services.
