JoAnn Gossett, 74, of Fairview, Tennessee, and formerly of Colp, passed away surrounded by loved ones on April 3, 2021, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
JoAnn was born in Springfield, Illinois, on December 5, 1946, to Jerome Francis and Lillian Agnes (Otto) Reilly. JoAnn had a lifelong passion for education and after teaching for twenty years, she returned to school to earn a Master’s degree in Education. During her thirty-five-year career, she specialized in teaching children with learning disabilities and special education needs.
JoAnn is remembered for having a lively sense of humor and her warm-hearted, kind nature. JoAnn loved scrapbooking, traveling, and most importantly her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of forty-nine years, Mickey L. Gossett; mother, Lillian Reilly; daughters, Kim (David) Perego of Austin, Texas and Karen (Steve) Doerr of Fairview, Tennesse; sister, Rita Ham of Decatur, Illinois; brother, John (Jane) Reilly of Riverside, Illinois; grandchildren, Lauryn and Dax Perego and Reilly and Taylor Doerr; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her father; sister, Patricia Reilly; and brother-in-law, Rick Ham.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Wednesday.
