Jo Fox, 80, of Creal Springs, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 20, 2026, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with the Rev. Shara Bloodworth officiating. Burial will follow in County Line Cemetery in Creal Springs. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Monday, at the funeral home.

Jo was born on October 14, 1945, in Asco, West Virginia, to Virgie (Green) and Noble O’Neal. She married Rodger Fox on June 26, 1993, in Vienna.
She is survived by her husband, Rodger Fox; children, Johnny (Rhonda) Coles, Michael Shane (Kim) Coles, Billie Jo (Dale) Crosby, Summer Lea Mayhew, and Delman Dean (Kasey) Mayhew; step-daughters, Kim Warden and Melissa Sherrard; grandchildren, John-Michael (Miguela) Coles, Angel (Billy) Nance, Dylan Coles, Dalton Coles, Mason Cox, Ethan (Ashley Garrison) Crosby, Halea (Kyle Boaz) Norris, Cory Norris, Ryan (Jenna) Norris, Landon Mayhew, Kaylee Mayhew, Kolson Mayhew, and Bennett Mayhew; step-granddaughter, Abbi Sherrard; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Kermit O’Neal, Noble O’Neal, Keith O’Neal, Mike (Lisa) O’Neal, Linda Thompson, and Carol Rubio; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Donna and Pat; and brother, Kenneth.
Jo worked as a waitress and hostess at Cracker Barrel, where she enjoyed meeting and serving others. She had previously been employed as a Dietician’s Aide at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Jo had a deep love for the outdoors, especially tending to her flower garden and watching the hummingbirds that gathered there. Above all, she was incredibly proud of her children and grandchildren, who meant the world to her.
