Jimmie Dale McMillan

Jimmie Dale McMillan, 72, of Carterville, passed away Thursday, November, 19, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Private family services will be held.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Carterville American Legion Post.

Jimmie was born April 25, 1948, in Herrin, to James Otis and Doris Jean (Thomas) McMillan. He married Cynthia Joyce Jolly on February 22, 1969, in Herrin.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce McMillan; sons, Robert (Eva) McMillan of Pittsburg, William McMillan of Carterville, and James Thor McMillan of Pittsburg; grandchildren, Vanessa (Danny) Gentry, Odin McMillan, and Andrew McMillan; sister, Cathy Jean (John) Davis of Marion; brother, Otis “Rody” McMillan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents.

He honorably served our country in the United States Navy.

Jimmie retired from Maytag after 38 years of service.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing.
