Jeff "Bodine" Walker

Jeff “Bodine” Walker, 57, of Carterville, passed away February 9, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 700 S. University Avenue, Carbondale, with Pastor Gray officiating. Burial will be in Willowrest Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 13, 2023, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, and 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday at the church.

Jeff was born December 14, 1965, in Danville, to James R. and Judith “Judy” (Beason) Walker.

He is survived by his daughters, Emma and Madilynn Walker; significant other, Denise Diercks; sister, Joellyn (David) Parry; nieces, Caitlyn Parry, Courtney Parry, and Corrine Parry, and Isabell Pearce; nephews, Tyler Heinemeyer, Chase Heinemeyer, and Will Pearce; in addition to Denise’s family, mother, Carol Epplin, and sister, Erin Heinemeyer; and a host of friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Austin Wade.

He was a sales rep for Rend Lake Beverages for over 20 years. Jeff had been working for Republic Services for almost 10 years.

Jeff was a great man of faith.

He loved Snoopy, the color purple, hunting and fishing, drinking a cold Coors Light, and spending time in the kitchen cooking or grilling. Jeff enjoyed being competitive. He served as a referee for high school basketball and football games.

Jeff had a great love and affection for Denise and his girls, Emma and Madilynn, and enjoyed spending time with them as well as the rest of his family and friends.
