Jeanetta Hall Waldron, 102, of Carterville, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Marion.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville, with Don Yewell officiating.
Jeanetta was born September 5, 1919, in Cambria, to Phillip and Anna Jane (Hutton) Hall. She married Russell “Dago” Waldron on February 17, 1955, in Tunica, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2012.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews and their spouses, who fondly called her “Aunt Nettie”: Suzy Ward of Carterville, Rosie Penrod of Largo, Florida, Connie Sims of Herrin, Candy and Paul Calcaterra of Herrin, Rusty and Carol Waldron of Carbondale, Rosemary Hall of Energy, Linda Burris of Energy, Norma Drake of Cambria, Phyllis Russell of Cambria, Vickie Hayes of Florida, Gary and Laneice Hall of Key West, Florida; several great-nieces and great-nephews; sister-in-law, Clara Fern Baker of Sesser; and brother-in-law, Bill Penrod of Carterville.
Jeanetta was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Marceline Williamson and Loretta Penrod; brothers, Evan, Eugene, and Leon Hall; niece, Evadean Church; and nephews, Frankie Hall and Phillip Penrod.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Carterville for over 70 years.
She had been a clerk for over 45 years at several area stores including, Midtown Grocery, Melvins, and Reynolds Market.
Jeanetta enjoyed her puzzle books and crocheting. She was faithful in reading the Bible daily, along with her devotionals and praying. She also loved to cheer on her beloved St. Louis Cardinals.
