Janet E. (Murphy) Klope

Janet E. Klope, 78, of Crainville, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Willowrest Cemetery in Carterville, with Pastor Cody Knapik officiating.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Janet was born January 31, 1945, in North Bend, Illinois, to Ebert Lee and Lucille (Bandy) Murphy. She married William “Bill” Howard Klope on May 11, 1968, in Marion. Together they have shared 55 wonderful years together.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Klope of Crainville; sons, Mike Klope of Carterville, and Mark (Holly) Klope of Carterville; grandchildren, Gloria, Zander, and Maya Klope; sister, Carol Sue (Joey) Robinson; nieces, Tracy Jarrett and Cindy Froman; and many dear friends.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents.

She had worked as a stenographer for the Department of Welfare for the State of Illinois for over 8 years. When her sons came along, Janet decided to dedicate her life to staying at home and caring for them.  

Janet was a member of Crainville Baptist Church.
